Tale of the Crinum

People near us in the province, or people passing by our street are already familiar seeing me roaming outside even during unfavorable environmental conditions. They see me at 5:00am already on the hill even before they are up! They also see me with face almost touching the ground to shoot something. Thanks for the live viewfinder on digital cameras, our faces don't touch the ground anymore! When most people seek the comfort of their houses during heavy rains, they sometimes see me going out in the rain, umbrella at hand, and of course the camera.

And one early morning when i woke up with almost zero visibility due to the fog, I went out and shoot the fogs and everything else I see lovely. Even a kid asked me what i have been doing for a long time around this plant, a crinum lily. This is at the side of the road, untended, ignored and usually harrassed. But here I am giving it importance, love and caring. Fortunately, it has many spikes that time and I was able to shoot different flower stages. The scent is also soft and alluring. However, a fully blooming umbel is not available as that stage suffered too much beating from the rain, got heavy and fell to the ground.
